Description

Join us for a 2.5 hour walking tour within the Olympic National Forest and learn about our native wild mushrooms! Meet us at Hood Canal Adventures' Basecamp store/office at 10:15 am in Brinnon before following your guide into the Olympic National Forest to learn about the edible and non-edible mushrooms you will find in the forest. Learn about what types of environments to look for, how to identify and harvest, and and how to make a spore print. If we run into a good patch, harvesting for the group may occur. Bring a lunch if the weather is pleasant enough to dine al fresco by the river. This is an easy walking tour suitable for all ages. The group will not be harvesting large quantities of fungi during the tour but we hope you can learn some skills to start foraging on your own!
