Dance like no one is watching (because no one will be) Come join and participate in an experience that combines dancing to music and freely expressing your body while being blindfolded and doing breathwork. For those familiar with ecstatic dance or trance dance, this is a variation of that. The purpose of being blindfolded is to eliminate external distractions and create an internal process. Participants experience a variety of things including a deeper connection (to self, others, source), peace, joy, freedom, transcendence of time and space, similar experiences to psychedelics and more. Get ready to play and get tribal and have fun! **Not recommended for people who experience panic attacks. You are still absolutely welcome to come but the breathing techniques will be modified. The location for this will be at Seven Studios. The address is 275 S 3rd St, Columbus, OH 43215. It is located in downtown Columbus and because the event is on a Sunday, the meters on the streets will be free so that should help with finding parking. For this trance dance, please bring: -a yoga mat or something to lie on (there will be a portion of the class where you will be lying down) -water -comfortable clothes to dance in and sweat in -a towel (optional) -a journal and pen (optional) The person facilitating this class, Allan Kofman, has led these trance dance variations in Hawaii, New York and Ohio. In addition to that, he creates a specific unique dance mix for each individual session. The music is intended for people to feel and connect with the music so the music ranges across different genres but the foundation of the mixes is rooted in organic and tribal bass music. This event is listed as free on eventbrite so people can secure a spot however a recommended donation of at least $10 is requested to help pay for the space being rented out.
