When I say the name Jackson Family Wines, I’m guessing the winery that comes to mind for the majority is Kendall-Jackson. But did you know that the Jackson Family Wines (JFW) brand is made up of over 40 wineries stretching all around the world including some extremely well regarded selections like Mt. Brave, Stonestreet, and Chateaux Lassegue.
Something that I recently learned about JFW is that when they purchase a winery they prefer to be hands-off and let it run the same way it did before with the benefit of some extra funding. This explains why I did not know one of my most recent favorite wines was actually a part of their brand. That producer is Hartford Family Winery out of the Russian River Valley in Sonoma, California. This family operated winery is an excellent example of why the Russian River Valley is widely regarded as one of the best areas of Sonoma.
Many of you know I’m not necessarily a big proponent of the point system for rating wines. However, it is hard to ignore them when the average scores across these wineries portfolios are between 93-96pts from multiple sources. Oh, and to top it all off, none of the wines get even close to costing $100. So if you'd like to come in and learn some more about wine from a certified Master Sommelier while sipping on a great lineup, join us on November 18th at 6:30 to taste Hartford Family Winery with Master Sommelier Larry O'Brien.
I'd love to see you all there but unfortunately space is limited, so get your tickets while supplies last!
Cheers,
Benton
