This is a centennial commemoration of the legacy of the founders, caregivers and alumni of this rural school for black children: An oasis of education that nurtured and allowed so many tiny, shiny minds to blossom. Donors, volunteers, sponsors, historians, schools and vendors welcomed!! Sponsorships start at $25. 50% of the Rosenwald Centennial Project’s net proceeds are earmarked to renovate the graves of the school’s founders buried behind Rosenwald Acres; 25% will be donated to to aid community and cultural programs at Samuel W. Houston Museum (NPO# 73-1720777); The final 25% used for project administration and conversion of the grounds into a solar-powered re-creation of the 2-room school building that formerly stood on the land.
