Description

Gather outdoors to light the yule log at Wallace House & Old Dutch Parsonage State Historic Sites. 250 years ago Old Dutch Parsonage's Frederick Frelinghuysen offered the first tutorials for Queen's College at the Sign of the Red Lion Tavern in New Brunswick, launching a tradition of teaching that continues two and a half centuries later at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Gather outdoors for a brief festive ceremony as we light a "colonial colleges" yule log in the tradition of Douglass Residential College and William & Mary to mark this anniversary in the long history of education and learning in New Jersey.
