Description

Explore Enlightenment and illumination at New Jersey's colonial colleges on this twilight tour of Wallace House & Old Dutch Parsonage. 250 years ago Old Dutch Parsonage's Frederick Frelinghuysen offered the first tutorials for Queen's College at the Sign of the Red Lion Tavern in New Brunswick, launching a tradition of teaching that continues two and a half centuries later at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. As the sun sets tour Wallace House & Old Dutch Parsonage to learn about the early history of Queen's College, the first tutorials at the Sign of the Red Lion, and the metaphor of Enlightenment and practice of illumination in eighteenth-century New Jersey.
