Join us on Tuesday, December 7, from 6-7:30 PM at the Hjemkomst Center to talk with the local veteran panelists about their experience. The panel, moderated by Dr. Margo Norton of the Fargo Veterans Affairs Medical Center, will feature local veterans and their experiences with different aspects of military life. This panel discussion will also allow members of the community to speak with local veterans and ask questions. This event is in conjunction with the exhibition “Warriors of the North: Healing Through Art.” The exhibit features paintings from an anonymous veteran artist, a photo installation from local veteran Joshua Zeis, and a collection of masks painted by hundreds of veterans and service members at the Fargo Veteran Affairs Hospital over the last six years. The mask program was originally developed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for soldiers returning home with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The art workshops used to produce those masks were replicated by Fargo VA staff, led by clinical psychologist Dr. Margo Norton. Warriors in the North: Healing Through Art” will be on exhibition at the Hjemkomst Center through Sunday, March 6, 2022. A free public reception will be held at the Hjemkomst Center on Tuesday, December 7, from 6-7:30 p.m. Please join us.
