Description
Lead removal is a danger to the public, workers, and the environment, and there are several legal and liability aspects to removing it. COURSE DESCRIPTION C3 contains specific discussions on protecting workers, compliance with environmental regulations, proper management of waste streams, operations that result in potential exposures to lead and other hazards, and associated control technology. It includes background information on the hazards of lead and other toxic metals as well as a review of the current legal and regulatory issues. The course also addresses developing programs to effectively control risks to workers, the public, and the environment. COURSE CONTENT Hazardous coatings and materials in industrial paintingLegal and liability issuesHealth effects of hazardous coatings and materialsIdentification of hazardous coatings/hazardous materialsAir, soil, water/sediment, and dust regulations and monitoring strategiesWorker protection from hazardous coatings/materialsRespiratory protection and PPEManagement of solid and hazardous wastesSources of hazardous coatings exposureControl of environmental releases (containment and ventilation)Specifications, submittals, and site-specific compliance programsPre-planning and worksite preparationIn-process and post-competent person (CP) responsibilities/demobilizationCOURSE FORMAT Each participant will receive a comprehensive manual that includes references for additional reading and copies of relevant handouts. Hands-on workshops following most of the units reinforce the key points and give students the opportunity to test their knowledge. Quizzes help the students prepare for the 100-question, multiple-choice exam administered at the end of the course. To receive a certificate and CEUs, you must attend all 32 hours of the course and attain a 70% or better score on the exam. COVID-19 POLICIES Our instructors and students are required to comply with all CDC, State, County, and City COVID-19 policies and restrictions. Any student or instructor displaying any signs of COVID-19 will not be permitted to attend the course.All students and instructors must sign a waiver prior to being allowed into the training facility.All shared gauges and equipment will be disinfected between uses from prior to first use and after the last person is done.Students and instructors will be asked to regularly wash their hands.Both students and instructors will be required to practice social distancing while at the same time utilizing either an N95 type mask/respirator or other face covering.All students and instructors will have their temperature taken prior to entering the building each day and a daily log will be maintained by the host.Any person with a temperature reading of > 100.4° F will not be allowed to enter the building or attend the course.If you wish to register and pay by check, please contact Jared Rigo: [email protected].
