Appliance installers fulfill orders by delivering and installing various appliances for retail outlets. Installers must be conscious of the procedures required by each retail outlet when fulfilling orders, and subsequently, honor said procedures to the best of their ability. Installers must be able to offload/load appliances of varying types and sizes at stores, deliver, and then install these appliances at various locations across the Tucson Metropolitan area. Installers are required to install appliances, take pictures of the installation process, consolidate all trash and debris produced by the installation process, haul away and/or relocate old appliances for clients, write notes after the installation that summarize the experience in a clear way, demonstrate the operation of each appliance to the client, communicate with all clients in a respectful way, and rectify any issues that arise during the installation process. Appliance installers should also possess, or be willing to be taught, surface-level knowledge regarding carpentry, plumbing, electrical, water, and gas (natural and liquid propane) - particularly in the home environment relevant to appliances. The length of an installer's day can range from 4 to 12+ hours a day depending on drive time, how many orders are scheduled, the content of the orders, and any complications the crew may need to navigate during the installations. An installer’s workweek is Tuesday through Saturday, with Sundays and Mondays being days off. Full-time and part-time positions are available. Installers are expected to be reliable, arrive on time for work, maintain a cordial and fair attitude with clients and store personnel at all times, and put forth their best work - while maintaining a safe environment for themselves, their team, clients, and products. Installers must be comfortable working within a small team installing various appliances in private-home environments. Appliance installers must be comfortable with constantly changing work environments, a wide range of clients with different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, and be willing to stay adaptable in order to achieve success.
