MCRSP Board Meeting on Thursday, December 2 from 2-5pm. Conference on Friday, December 3 from 9am - 4pm. This conference, to be held at Morningstar Church in Dardenne Prairie on Friday, December 3 is a MUST for all recovery housing providers. Kim Savage, a national expert on civil rights and the federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) will be the keynote presenter. On Friday morning, she will give an overview of fair housing laws and protections for recovery residents with an emphasis on land use and zoning. She will also discuss housing agreements + house rules and best practices to “stay out of trouble” in land use and zoning and in the neighborhood. The day will also include a presentation from the insurance industry on risk management and the type of insurance coverage that every housing provider should have, an update from the Department of Mental Health, a discussion on diversity, equity and inclusion and a panel of state legislators to discuss the upcoming legislative session.
