Join us for this 3 hour Beginner Class and make your own Ornament! This is a beginner-level Stained Glass Class, no skills necessary! We will learn all of the techniques required to make a Stained Glass Ornament that you will get to take home with you. All of the supplies and tools will be provided. Note: Wear closed-toed shoes and long-sleeved clothing you won’t mind working in. We will be working with hot tools and sharp materials. You will use solder containing lead--which we will teach you how to use safely. As a precaution, children and expecting mothers are not advised to take this class. Class Outline: 6:00pm-9:00pm Monday, December 6th. We will begin by learning how to use glass cutting tools and techniques for cutting glass. Next, you will choose one of three patterns for your Ornament and cut the glass pieces for your project. (There will be lots of colors and textures to choose from!) Once we have learned how to apply the copper foil to the glass pieces, we will heat up our soldering irons and assemble our Ornaments! After soldering, you will apply patina to the solder seams. We will wrap up the class by polishing our Ornaments. At this point your new Stained Glass will be ready to go home with you!
