TAMPA, FL — A small plane has crashed into the water about 500 yards from the Peter O. Knight Airport on Davis Islands.
The call came in at 10:11 a.m. Monday. Both the pilot and passenger were able to get out of the plane safely.
This is the third small plane to experience engine troubles in Tampa in the past two weeks.
On Nov. 4, a small plane made an emergency in the median of Bruce B. Downs Blvd. in New Tampa and on Sunday night and the Coast Guard was called Friday to rescue a pilot from a small aircraft crash in the water three miles south of MacDill Air Force Base.
