Oakwood School in Morgan Hill is seeking a dependable and hard-working individual to work part-time evening hours. This position is Monday – Friday with variable hours generally scheduled between 4:00 – 8:00pm. POSITION SUMMARY The person in this position is responsible for assistance with campus maintenance and events. This position reports to the Facilities Manager and/or Administrative Director. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Complete basic & routine maintenance tasks including some cleaning, light landscaping • Help assure campus safety and security • Facilitate event set-ups and special projects with minimal supervision • Assist with maintenance functions, including tracking of inventory, stocking supplies, maintaining equipment, etc. • Ensure compliance with time management policies including meal and rest periods • Maintain the highest level of service for all stakeholders consistent with school policy PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • May be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting/moving/carrying (light to heavy weight material/appliances/equipment – 50 lbs. or more), climbing ladders/stairs, and walking on rooftops • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small-motorized equipment (i.e., repetitive hand/wrist, gripping, and elbow motion) • Must have normal range of hearing, vision, color discrimination, and depth perception for proper operation of machines and equipment • Requires the use of appropriate safety equipment (e.g., goggles, masks, gloves, etc.) • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and inclement weather conditions, in high noise levels requiring hearing protection, and with lubricants, solvents, batteries, cleaning fluids, paints, etc. JOB QUALIFICATIONS • Successfully pass DOJ fingerprinting / background screening • Valid driver license, clean driving record, and automobile insurance • Customer-focused attitude in dealing with a variety of stakeholders and constituents • Prioritization and excellent organization skills • Experience working in a school setting is highly desirable • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred • Some custodial or general maintenance experience preferred • Ability to read and write English; speak English and understand spoken English • Experience using email and other basic computer programs a plus (Google, Microsoft, etc.) • Must be neat in appearance, dependable, and possess a positive attitude • Flexible schedule times, subject to change
