Description
We are looking for a Full or Part-time Personal Care Assistant to support our son Chris, who suffered a traumatic brain injury due to a car accident. If you’re a compassionate, prompt, positive person who isn’t afraid to work hard, then this is a job for you. We expect you to be polite and a good communicator. Must be comfortable with dogs, as we have three friendly fur babies. We are located in Naugatuck.
Chris is a 33-year-old bright young man that is fueled by comedy and persistence. Due to his TBI, he can be verbally aggressive at times but quickly forgets due to his short-term memory. Chris is genuinely a sweet young man that needs someone to give him a chance. In his mind, he does not believe he has any disabilities and will deny help but does genuinely need it. Like anyone, he needs time to get to know you and adapt before he puts his trust in you. For the most part, he is self-sufficient. Please see below his needs.
