Description

RECRUITING NOW FOR EMERGENCY OIL SPILL RESPONDERS Global Diving and Salvage maintains a pool of eligible on-call workers and vessel operators who can aid with response efforts in the event of an oil spill or other marine emergency, and we are always in need of more responders to add to our list. Most work will be preformed in the Puget Sound area. The ideal candidate for this position is someone with previous maritime experience who is interested in filling his or her time off with an occasional call out for an oil spill or other marine response effort. Our on-call responders perform a variety of duties, including vessel operations, skimmer operations, booming, deploying sorbents, and other tasks. Global Provides: • Spill response vessel training. • 24-hour HAZWOPER training and certification with annual 8-hour refresher courses. • Annual HAZMAT physical. • FCC Restricted Radio License (if needed). • Maritime networking and on-water experience. Primary Requirements: • Ability to respond immediately to callouts and work 7 days or more. • Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions. • Previous maritime experience preferred. • Minimum 8-hour call out for drills, audits or spills. • Subject to random drug tests. • Own steel-toed boots. • COVID-19 vaccinated. Spill Responder work is performed on an as-needed basis; this is not a full-time, part-time or guaranteed position. Global will not ask you to miss work at your regular employer. If you have a flexible schedule, are highly motivated and have a willingness to work with others to protect the environment (and you would like to earn extra cash), we encourage you to apply for a Spill Responder position with us. Apply online at www.gdiving.com/about/employment and search Oil Spill Responder or email the Oil Spill Response Program Coordinator Zoe Martin at [email protected] with a good contact phone number.
