We utilize heavy equipment to develop raw land and create residential subdivisions and multi-family communities. The development process includes land clearing, site development, public and private road improvements, installation of wet utilities such as sewer, water, and storm sewer lines, in addition to the construction of dry utility lines for power, gas, telephone, and cable service providers. Job Summary: Engineering Intern will assist with construction activities such as planning, estimating, scheduling, compliance review, production tracking, and cost report management. This position will encompass both office, and field experience to provide exposure to both technical, and administrative duties. Travel to and from jobsite locations is required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Assist Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent with the following: • Tracking of work hour utilization and productivity • Resolving design and detail problems with owners, design agencies, suppliers and subcontractors • Analyzing survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, specifications, contractual documents, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan or assist projects • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project status or feasibility • Development of work plans and hazard analysis plans for crews to follow to safely execute the work • Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, safety standards, and productivity goals • Maintaining project document control • Managing and organizing subcontracts and procurement of materials and consumables • Additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management • Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc. Requirements: • Currently enrolled in an accredited university program working towards a degree in engineering, construction engineering, or construction management, or other related program • Candidates should possess leadership potential, be problem-solvers, and be able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment • Currently have a valid driver’s license Physical Demands / Working Environment: • Working outdoors in various temperatures and conditions • Wears various Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) • Will sit and stand for several hours at a time • Lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, squatting for various periods of time • Ability to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
