The governing body of Seaside is degrading the neighborhood around the wheeler Street tennis courts by allowing the tennis courts to be used for pickleball which is bringing in a dangerous amount of vehicles that the neighborhood was not built for. They admitted that the traffic was a problem, but approved that use anyway. The city is short of police officers putting stress on the residents. The residents are forced to call the police constantly to curb the illegal parking and traffic that has resulted in a dangerous intersection where Carson St and Wheeler Streets meet. The city has failed for over ten, yes, over 10 years to curb the drug dealers that come to the same neighborhood to service one person. The police have been very active in the neighborhood and have been responding to the problem doing all they can, but the city government continues to circumvent their responsibilities putting the residents in danger. Ten years of excuses for the presence of drug dealers coming into the neighborhood, and the addition of a dangerous traffic problem brought on by a city government has brought the city of Seaside to a new low. They have clearly forgotten that they serve the people and not visa-versa. They are solely responsible for the dangerous conditions in that neighborhood. The city council meeting is Thursday 11/18/2021.
