ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst police responded to three domestic disturbances in the last few days. Two of them resulted in arrests. Here is information from the reports:
Angel O. Jaramillo Rivera, 24, of Chicago, was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at Courtyard by Marriott, 370 N. Route 83, on charges of domestic battery, unlawful restraint and interference with reporting of domestic violence. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, dispatchers received multiple 911 hang-up calls from a room in the hotel. A woman told police that Rivera grabbed her, put his hand over her mouth and slapped her in the face. He also interfered with her attempts to call 911. Baldemar Baurista-Barrer, 22, of Addison, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Friday at North and Oak on two counts of domestic battery and a count of resisting a police officer. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, Baurista-Barrer ran from officers, but was later found. Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 8:30 a.m. Thursday in the 600 block of South York Street. A woman told police a family member was breaking items in the house. The situation was calm when police arrived. The suspect agreed to leave the apartment. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
