BEACHWOOD, OH — The Beachwood Delivers fee-free delivery service has been recognized by the White House and within the pages of the president's COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force: Final Report and Recommendations.
The program saved restaurants and residents more than $60,000, according to city officials. It is now one of nine programs being highlighted in the task force's Final Report, which includes recommendations for how to better handle the COVID-19 pandemic while protecting vulnerable groups and businesses.
Between Dec. 21 and March 31, the program was responsible for delivering more than $75,000 in orders. The program was extended twice by Beachwood because of its popularity.

"It served 10 Beachwood restaurants and delivered only to Beachwood addresses (including businesses and hotels). Participating restaurants saved more than $22,000 by using the fee-free service instead of third-party delivery apps," the city said in a statement.
The COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force praised Beachwood Delivers for providing "equitable" food access and "financial support" for small businesses. The full task force report has been shared online.
