Join Forever14 as we celebrate Caleb's Sweet 16 birthday by spreading holiday cheer throughout the BLC's most vulnerable population.
Caleb was a great kid. Sadly he made an impulsive and irrational decision to end his life. He was only 14. In the wake of his death Forever14 was born. Our mission is to advance conversation and human connection to prevent teen suicide. Our goal is to be #suicidefreeby2023 the year he would've graduated.
Caleb was in uniform the last four years of school. He found a way to be unique by wearing crazy socks. This is a tradition Grandma Lynn started and we continue. Each year between October 22 and December 23 we collect crazy socks. This year we have 30 community partners joining in the fun. A map of locations can be found on our website at www.forever14.org.
One December 23rd, we will stagger meet up times and gather at Swizzle Brand Solutions near Ace's Ballpark for hot chocolate and cookies, you will receive a bag of socks and a map of the downtown areas that are most in need. We ask that you take photos and tag forever14. The photo with the most likes and shares will receive a $100 gift card.
Last year, our first year, we collected over 1200 pair of socks, over 125lbs and more than 50 people joined us in the celebration. For Caleb's Sweet 16, we hope to double that.
This year on what would've been Cay's 16th birthday he would've been so excited for his new car, he would've been taxi to his brother and been all over town visiting friends and family. Sadly he isn't here to receive our gift but we hope that you will join us by blessing others on his special day.
