JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 44-year-old man died in a single-vehicle crash in west Jefferson County Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. in the 1500 block of Shady Grove Road. Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said deputies on the scene encountered a Chevrolet Impala that had left the roadway, traveled down a ravine and struck several trees. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
