Looking for musicians to fill out INDIE ROCK / POP PROJECT

Portland OR

Description

Hi everybody, I just moved to Portland this week. Last March I released my first solo album. This was an album I spent years slowly making - writing, recording, mixing - everything. The album was meant to be a teen horror movie concept album. Here's a brief article about the whole concept: https://goodtimes.sc/santa-cruz-arts-entertainment/grant-summerland-explores-creepy-side-mountain-life/ I've been meaning to get to an area with a large local music scene for some time and now the stars have finally aligned and welllll here I am in Portland. I know very few people here but am trying to change that as soon as possible. To be more specific, I'm looking to form a live band to play these songs I've written out in the real world as soon as possible. I want it to be professional, but I also firmly believe that playing music live should be fun above all else. Here is a link to the studio album: https://spoti.fi/394sro0 What I am looking for is a drummer, bassist, and guitarist. It would be a big plus if bassist and guitarist also were able to play keyboard, even in limited capacity. Ability to sing backup is also a huge plus. The recorded album at the link above is a large mix of genres: namely hip hop, indie pop, and indie rock. In a live setting though, I have a much different idea of how the songs should sound. I am interested in taking the songs and turning them into more upbeat songs, with some other influences. Acts like Phoebe Bridgers, HAIM, and Snail Mail are worth talking mentioning as influences for the slower stuff but also think of some mix of Jeff Rosenstock, PUP, and things in that vein. I’d also include bands like Deerhunter and King Krule in the mix (I especially appreciate what King Krule has done to meld punk rock with jazz music and on certain songs want to do something with that). Songs that are pop-punk in the sense that they have pop sensibilities and punk sensibilities combined with a bit of an indie rock approach. I have gone ahead and recorded demos by myself for what these songs would roughly sound like in a live setting, take a listen here: https://grantsummerland.bandcamp.com/album/patterson-gimlin-live-demos-2021 I hope the above description gives people a good idea of what these shows would be like. Again, I really just want to play some shows out and have fun! If any of you are interested please DM me, I would love to get in touch with some of you.
