ACCESS CONTROL TECHNICIAN ECD Systems, a commercial integration company, is seeking an experienced low voltage technician with installation and programming experience primarily in Security and Access Control. Successful candidates must be able to supervise, install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems with minimal guidance. Candidates must also have advanced knowledge of commonly used concepts and best practices within the telecommunications industry. Individuals will rely on established guidelines and site plans to perform the functions of the job according to the project specifications. Preferred Qualifications • OSHA 10 • Fully vaccinated from COVID-19 • Familiar with Security/Access Control hardware, wiring, and concepts • Security Certifications (Bosch, Honeywell, DMP, etc.) ** • Access Control Certifications (Lenel, Software House, AMAG, etc.) ** • Internet protocol knowledge • Experience port forwarding **Note: Candidate must be able to program systems at time of hire. Duties The team member will be responsible for installing, testing, and troubleshooting security and access control products from a variety of manufacturers. The technician must function as a team member and successfully interface with the customer to install cables and related parts or equipment. 1. Install cable under floors, in walls, in doors, and in ceiling. 2. Place drops using glow rod, fish tape, or other method. 3. Build out telecommunication closets to include installing grounding system, equipment racks, and cable as required. 4. Properly install fire-stopping in fire walls, floors and ceiling penetrations. 5. Read, interpret, and follow prints and drawings properly. 6. Adhere to all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations. 7. Other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements: • Low Voltage Construction experience including strong technical knowledge, the ability to install and terminate communications cables and devices. • Ability to work a variety of shifts to meet customer expectations including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. • Position may require out of town travel to service customers within Arizona. • Must have satisfactory driving record, pass periodic drug testing and complete preliminary background check. • Must maintain valid Arizona driver’s license. • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions. • Must be able to lift at least 55 pounds occasionally and move up to 75 pounds. • Distinguish difference between color cables to terminate consistently. • Be able to function as a motivated individual and as a team member. • Use personal protective equipment properly and in a manner, which meets all company, customer, and industry safety standards.
