Hope... Hope is something that is, unfortunately, lacking for many people during the holiday season, so let's have hope for the holidays. Hope... Hope is something that is, unfortunately, lacking for many people during the holiday season, so let's have hope for the holidays. We are joining with several community organizations to provide Hope for the Holidays. What Hope for the Holidays is, is serving families that wouldn't otherwise have a Christmas this year. Several families have to choose between paying the gas bill or buying presents... Cooking a Christmas Dinner or keeping the lights on... And I'm sure we agree, that's not hopeful. This Christmas season lets join together and provide hope by providing a shopping bag full of everything a family needs for a Christmas meal but let's not stop there. Join us in partnering to make sure every kid has toys to open this Christmas!  On December 18th & 19th Catalyst Church, Loaves and Fishes, Toys for Tots, and many many more organizations are hosting a DRIVE-THRU Hope for the Holidays at The Abbey, but we need you! We need you to help set up a FREE toy store where parents will receive toys for each of their kids, and pick up a Chrismas meal kit if they need one. We need you on the 17th for setting up but also on the 18th & 19th to serve the families that drive-thru through to pick up toys and get their meal kit. This takes a huge volunteer force because of the massive need in our community, please consider making Hope for the Holidays a part of your families celebration and generousity this season! As a side note, if you are a family seeking hope this Christmas please sign up at Loaves and Fishes for a meal kit and Toys for Tots. If you would like to give back this Christmas Season we would welcome your help and please set up a time to pick up your Christmas Meal Kit and Toys at a different session then you serve. Ask someone what comes to mind when you say “Christian” and you’ll hear words like, “boring,” “judgmental,” “religious,” and “too political.”  Yet when Jesus explained why he came he said, “I have come that you may have life to the full” (John 10:10).  Somehow, Christians have really screwed up what it means to be a Christian. Catalyst means “An agent that provokes significant change or action.”  We’re trying to restore what Jesus was after.  We believe that following Jesus is the greatest adventure life has to offer and leads to significant change in our lives.  It leads people to be catalysts. Ask someone what comes to mind when you say “Church” and you’ll hear words like, “religion,” “polyester suits,” “meaningless rituals,” “holier-than-thou attitudes.” That’s why we say we’re stripping church.  We’re removing all that unnecessary garbage and letting it be what it’s supposed to be: loving God and loving people. We’re Catalyst. And we’re stripping church and seeking life.
