Enjoy samples from area restaurants and get in the Holiday Spirit with caroling, bonfires and the lighting of the Rotary's Memory Tree. The Tri-Lakes Business Alliance and the Chestertown Rotary will be sponsoring a Taste of the Tri-Lakes and Memory Tree Lighting on Tuesday, November 30th, from 5:30 to 7:30 in the center of Chestertown. Many area restaurants will be participating, serving up samples of some of their signature dishes, and samples will be available for $1-$2. Local choirs will be singing Holiday music complete with bonfires, free s’more making for the children, and the lighting of the Rotary’s Memory Tree at 6:30. This will be the Rotary’s annual Memory Tree Fundraiser, where people are asked to purchase a light for the Memory Tree in remembrance of those past and present who have impacted their lives. This year’s tree is in memory of Nan Williams and Howard Kennedy. A $5.00 contribution for each name will not only light a light for all to see this Christmas, but will also help support local families in need through the food pantry, heating fuel assistance, clothing, etc. Bulbs can be purchased the evening of the tree lighting.
