Let’s get together and sketch! Gifted yourself some drawing time this holiday season. Join us and practice your observational drawing skills. A variety of objects will be provided for you to quickly sketch in timed intervals. All artists of every skill level are welcomed. Basic materials are provided but feel free to bring your favorite sketchbook and pen. Note, this is not an instructional workshop. Register to reserve your space. Limited spaces available. No one turned away for lack of funds. We require proof of vaccination or a negative test in the past 72hrs to participate in all of our indoor activities. Masks required. Event host Tamara Sherman, art medium of choice is watercolor. She would like to stop relying heavily on photo references and improve drawing/painting from direct observation. She suspects she is not alone. Rock Paper Scissors Collective (RPSC) is a member-directed, all volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that fosters creativity and collaboration in order to strengthen local communities, encourage sustainable practices, and explore alternative models. We promote the sharing of ideas, skills, and resources through the celebration of art, craft, education, and performance. RPSC currently realizes this mission through low-cost art workshops, curated and open-call gallery exhibitions, retail of handmade and independently produced goods, pop-ups, a variety of community events, and youth involvement. In 2021, we are thrilled to open our new storefront at 2120 MLK, at the corner of MLK and 22nd St. Come say hello!
