Visit the Historic Lucas Mansion in Hiddenite, NC to see how the Arts will "Sparkle & Shine" this holiday season! New Friends & Renewals. The Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center is thrilled to annouce their 2021 Annual Friend’s Christmas Victorian Open House which will take place December 2nd and 3rd from 6-8 pm each evening at the Hiddenite Arts and Heritage Center’s Victorian Lucas Mansion located at 316 Hiddenite Church Rd, Hiddenite, NC. Please call the Center at 828-632-6966 to make a reservation. The Friend’s Open House is free to members who have renewed their memberships and to anyone wishing to support the Arts by becoming a Friend of the Center. Payments will be taken at the Open House or anyone interested in becoming a friend may join by visiting the Center’s website https://www.hiddenitearts.org/become-a-member/ , sending a check in the mail, (PO Box 311, Hiddenite, NC 28636), or simply stopping by the Lucas Mansion to make a payment. This festive event will feature tours of the Lucas Mansion including the 1914’s House Museum and home to Diamond Jim Lucas, the Alexander County Visitor’s Center on first floor, the Art Gallery with works of art by Caldwell Brush & Pallet Guild on 2nd floor, and Toyland on 3rd floor along with the doll collection, miniature dollhouses and antique toys! The 3rd floor will feature a Kindness chain prepared by Alexander County third graders as part of the Christmas decorations. Gifts and souvenirs may be purchased from local artists in our gift shop which we will feature on first floor. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served with entertainment by the Todd Wright Jazz Trio from Appalachian State University on Thursday evening, and Music by local pianist Glen Fox on Friday evening. “Christmas… A Time to Sparkle & Shine!” is a spin off of NC Arts Council “Spark The Arts” campaign introduced this year. ” Spark the Arts is an awareness campaign designed to inspire public participation in the Arts across North Carolina by highlighting the unique way the Arts lift spirits, bring people together, and heal. Recognizing that the people of North Carolina are the spark that keeps the arts alive, well, and thriving, our goal is to ignite the resurgence of our state’s arts sector from the pandemic by connecting residents and visitors to arts experiences and arts stories across our state. ” NC Arts council.
