Slam contestants will battle each other in boxing rings for a chance to win trophies and cash prizes. Judges will score each poem from 0-10. Poems can be on any subject and any stylePoems must be the poet's original work that they create.No props or costumesDiscrepancies will be decided by the MCNo musical instruments or pre-recorded music.No performance should last longer than 3 minutes.As soon as the poet speaks, the timekeeper will start the clock.Poets must have a minimum of 3 poems to compete in the final roundThe order of the poets performing will be drawn randomly.The first place winner will receive the first place trophy and $100 and the chance to slam in the Slam in the Park (event date TBD). The second place winner will receive the second place trophy and $75 The third place winner will receive the third place trophy and $50 The contestant fee of $25 must be paid in advance via Eventbrite
