Configure old garage opener remotes

I have two garage remotes (pictured) and 2 garage door openers, all really old. Currently the way the remotes work is that a press on the right button opens the 1st garage door and the press on the left button does nothing. The 2nd remote works exactly same way (i.e. both remote can only open one of the garage doors). We looked at the instructions, but not very clear what switches we need to turn on the backs of the openers. What I want is for each remote to open and close its respective garage door. Specifically short press on the left button opens the door. Short press on the right button closes the door. You should be able to stop by our house to configuring the remotes and garage openers.
