OnQ is looking for a talented shop technician that loves to make amazing things! For a decade and a half, OnQ has been at the forefront of retail innovation. We’re trusted by the world’s biggest brands and retailers to help them curate meaningful engagement in-store and beyond. We design and build retail displays for many of the world’s most prolific brands and retailers. Some of the most important work we do is in our “Fab Shop,” where we build prototypes and make manufacturing refinements before sending jobs off to production. We’re seeking a shop technician who will flourish in this fast-paced, multi-tasking, goal-driven environment. The ideal candidate is teachable, responsible, self-starting and self-driven, yet extremely collaborative and a strong team player. This position involves working with metal, wood, plastic and occasionally general light-duty wiring for the fabrication of in-house retail prototypes, as well as plenty of welding, grinding and shaping of metals to perfection. In this role, you will create a variety of custom parts to prove-out and deliver prototypes to clients, and may occasionally create custom jigs and fixtures applicable to the production assembly of display and graphic materials, as well as build crates and custom packaging for shipments. The shop technician must have a strong working knowledge of standard and metric fastener thread sizes, building materials and their best applications. The shop technician will be required to control inventory, as well as order materials, hardware and shop supplies as needed, and will be required to follow safety procedures for all shop equipment. Our fully functional Fab Shop includes a dedicated woodshop and metal shop with all the necessary tools to create almost anything display-related. The ideal candidate will be extremely proficient with hand and power tools, along with a variety of stationary woodshop and metal shop equipment to custom-build prototypes, jigs, fixtures and crates for production.
