Description
Bella (11) and Happy (12) are the sweetest senior duo you’ve ever seen. They lived with the same family their whole lives and were very loved and treated well. Their former caregiver was devastated to have to let them go, but we are all trusting that they will have a wonderful next chapter in their lives with a new home. Could it be you? Bella, the poodle mix, is about eight pounds. She wants to be close to you and held all the time. She has a voracious appetite for wet food, but she is quite skinny now. She appreciates easy access to a grassy area to do her business. She doesn’t do too well with stairs and doesn’t see very well. Other than that, she gets along well for a senior and has lots of wags left in her tail for those she loves. She is the ultimate Velcro dog (as in the kind of dog that wants to stick to you like Velcro). She needs a lot of lap time and needs to know where her person is at all times. She would be perfect for someone seeking constant and gentle companionship. She cries bitterly if she can’t find her person, even if that’s just because you are in a different room. She is great with other dogs (ideally a gentle companion—definitely not a young one who wants to play). She is good with cats. She doesn’t mind sharing her food with her friends, but she needs a protected place to eat so she gets her share. She is small and light enough to be carried everywhere and that’s what she wants more than anything if you aren’t sitting or sleeping with her. Happy is super easy going, gentle, and earns his name. He loves walking and can even still go hiking. He loves food and could stand to shed a few pounds to help him be more comfortable. He genuinely makes me happy every time I see him. It’s hard to imagine a more easy-going dog with such a sunny disposition. He’s about 18 pounds. Both dogs have done really well with my two gentle boys, ages 9 and 11. They are not fearful of children or any particular gender. They are good with cats and other dogs. In the week I have been caring for them, I have never heard them bark.
