JERSEY CITY, NJ — A fatal shooting in Jersey City is under investigation Saturday morning, according to the Hudson County prosecutor's office. Around 4 a.m., Jersey City Police had responded to gunshots in the area of Grant Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez. Officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound in the torso. The man was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and pronounced dead around 4:20 a.m. The man was identified as Ishamell McCany, 41, of Jersey City. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the medical examiner. No arrests have been made yet. The prosecutor's office homicide unit continues to investigate with the Jersey City Police Department.
