We run large MeWe Metaphysics & Wellness Fairs in Portland, Eugene, Seattle & Online (and do Intuitive Readings, Coach, Consult & Teach). Our aim is to empower people and practitioners/vendors to thrive by being authentic, collaborative and engaged doing what they love. Learn more about us at LaureliShimayo.com. We began in 2014 and are re-opening THIS WEEKEND after a long pause. Everyone will be wearing Masks. We are looking for 1-3 Event Assistants for a very long Saturday Nov 20 (8am to 8pm) and/or Sunday Nov 21 (10am-9pm). This work requires a balance of strategy, physical work, and subtle people skills. Logistics *unload supplies and some furniture *set up and move tables and chairs *put up signs *set up display tables *get practitioners settled and answer their questions *set up snacks (at venues where we have them) *refill and freshen displays and/or food during the event *collect $5 admission (cash, card, paypal/venmo) and make change *stamp people’s hands/wrists after they pay *help practitioners stay on track for their Talks *notice anything unusual and address it or come to me *clean up – stack venue furniture, put things back in place, sweep, etc. *load the car with furniture and supplies Social *greet quests *politely explain how things work (if the want to know) *have them to sign our email list (if they’re willing) *answer attendee’s questions *politely remind people to wear their Mask *get to know practitioners I do some of these tasks with you too (setup, cleanup, greet, collect money, answer questions), and you’ll be the main resource. I’ve got instructions that I’ll give you with a list of priorities. Our events in Portland are THIS WEEKEND Nov 20 & 21 at the DoubleTree by the Lloyd Center and also Feb 12 & 13, Apr 9 & 10, and Jun 4 & 5, 2022. Most importantly, we are looking for people to work this weekend, and being able to work the others would be great as well. We’ve also get events in Eugene and Seattle if you want to travel: Ideally you have previous experience doing event support or management – this could be professionally or in a hobby. To succeed, you'll Enjoy personal and spiritual growth tools Be interested in the intuitive, metaphysical and/or healing arts Love to leave things better than you found them and contribute ideas that increase our efficiency and effectiveness Be professional and sophisticated to meet our guests and connect with venue staff Be an energetic self-starter who also appreciates following direction Be authentic, flowing, real and simultaneously focused and accurate Be good with carefully tracking enough details and procedures Be confident and creative enough to make decisions on your own AND follow my guidelines and directions very well and eagerly Make common sense decisions and determine priorities on the fly Be robust enough for a really long workday with some physical labor Have a reasonably quick work speed while being calm and present enough Communicate clearly, completely and promptly Have a schedule that allows you to commit to the entire weekend and optimally all/many of the dates Have a driver’s license and/or access to a vehicle for emergency errands or possibly posting flyers Compensation will be determined by your experience and most importantly your skill. Your likely starting wage is $18-$24/hr.
