Volunteer Specialist Location : Hybrid workweek optional; can be based out of the Edinboro, Greensburg, Johnstown or Pittsburgh Girl Scouts is the preeminent leadership development organization for girls in kindergarten through twelfth grade, and our mission is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character. Position Description: The Volunteer Specialist works with troops and service units to improve understanding and adherence to troop finance policies and procedures. This individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining new Girl Scout bank accounts in partnership with external banking representatives. This individual will provide customer support, engaging in consistent interaction with volunteers, external bank professionals, and internal staff. The Volunteer Specialist is responsible for the collection and review of service unit and troop finance reports and the processing of requests for additional money earning opportunities. When necessary, this individual performs financial audits, working with internal staff and external parties to ensure that all troop and service unit funds are used appropriately. The essential functions of this position include the following: Assist troops with bank management, opening, maintaining, and closing bank accountsProvide support to volunteers for managing money for their troopsProvide training and resources to volunteers on financial management practicesCollect and review finance reports from troops and service unitsIn collaboration with staff, investigate, analyze, and resolve financial mismanagement issues, providing education to responsible volunteers to ensure future compliance with policies and proceduresProvide support and training to volunteers regarding opportunities for troops and service units to earn additional funds for girl travel and programmingProcess Additional Money Earning Requests in a timely fashionCollege degree or equivalent professional experience2 years of work experience in related field, with experience in volunteer management and support Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesStrong training and facilitation skills with demonstrated success executing trainings and workshops, both virtually and in-personTop notch communicator and can confidently present to large groupsStrong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook and ability to learn new systemsMust be organized, detail orientated, and customer focusedAble to work flexible hours to include days, some evenings and some weekendsHave reliable transportationThis role is eligible to work a hybrid workweek, which allows up to 3 days of remote work per weekHealth, dental and vision insurance Requirements: Generous Benefit Package: Life and Long-term disability insurance Voluntary benefit options: short-term disability, cancer insurance, life insurance, and accident insurance 401(k) plan, both pre-tax and ROTH options, and employer match A generous paid time off policy 15 paid holidays annually (office closure between December 24-Jan 1) Paid Parental Leave Paid Sick Leave Flexible spending options for medical, dependent care, and parking expenses Employee Assistance Program TO APPLY: Submit cover letter and resume to [email protected].
