STILLWATER, MN — The Stillwater girls soccer team won its first state championship in more than 20 years by defeating Centennial 1-0 on Saturday at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Junior forward Nell Smith scored the game-winning goal in the 11th minute to give Stillwater the Class 3A crown — its third-ever state title and its first since 1998, when it won the Class 2A championship. 🏆The Stillwater Ponies are your Class AAA Girls Soccer Champions! The Ponies won the Class 2A state title in 1994 and 1998, while finishing as runner-up in 1997 and 2001, according to the Minnesota State High School League.
