UPDATE: This event has been postponed to the Spring of 2021. At the Community Engagement Gathering, we'll explore ways to practice meaningful community engagement together. How do you engage your community to be a welcoming community to live, work, and play? Join the Dakota Resources Learning Network in Custer, SD on for our Community Engagement Gathering. Together, we'll explore ways to practice meaningful community engagement. At this gathering, we will check out public projects made through creative community engagement. We'll explore what inclusive participation can look like in your community. And we will practice conversations that explore what "welcoming" means. We will learn and practice together. Day 1 1:00 pm - Opening Circle Facilitation teach: Environmental Scan Outdoor case studies of creative welcoming community projects 6:00 pm - Dinner Day 2 8:00 am - Breakfast Powerful Questions Teach - Learn new ways to communicate through challenges. This will be a 201 lesson for those who have participated last year, and a 101 for those who are new to Powerful Questions. Challenging Conversations Theatre - work through road blocks to creating more welcoming communities as you practice communicating with peers 12:15 - end with pack lunches to-go Location & LodgingThe gathering is being held at Bavarian Inn in Custer, SD. More information about getting a hotel reservation will be supplied as we get closer to the Spring of 2021. This event is currently planned for a face-to-face gathering in Custer, SD. We will be taking COVID-19 safety precautions. In consideration of the ongoing pandemic, participant refunds may be made by emailing [email protected]. We ask that ticket holders cancel their participation should illness or exposure to COVID-19 occur leading up to this event.
