I am a bass player/vocalist who has been writing material for a new project: an energetic drum and bass duo with jazz, punk rock, and afro-brazillian influences. I play bass and do vocals, you play energetic, melodic, expressive and creative drums and are willing to learn new methods and styles. Specifically: Brazilian and Cuban claves, 3:2 polyrhythms, and quintuplets/quintuplet swing. I can teach you these things if you keep an open mind, and I am interested in hearing what styles and influences you bring to the table. Must be somewhat musically literate (know how to tell what beat we are on, count different time signatures, communicate about specific placement of notes) and have the time to practice and gig seriously (minimum one practice and one gig per week, or two practices a week until we get booked up). I sound serious, because I am. But I have a vision, and whoever is willing to give me their time, effort, trust, and skill splits our rewards 50/50.
