Searching for some guitar playing peers

My 22 yr old son just moved here to Lincoln to live w me for now, his dad bought him an electric guitar and pedal before he passed away a few months ago. My son is kind of shy and a bit of a home body, breaks my heart to see how hurt he is over the loss of his dad..he sits and strums that guitar but doesn't know the first thing about playing it. Loves Eddie VH and a lot of older bands.. Such a good kid just needs a positive peer/mentor/friend to encourage him and maybe just maybe help him learn to play. Sometimes he goes to the music store just to watch people in there playing. If he knew I put this ad up he'd never forgive me... I'll pray for the best response that he needs.. If you don't think this is too strange please reply to me tell me a bit about you and I will give you his number. He took care of his dad 2yrs til he passed away from cancer now he's just lost.
