Description

Phil here. I've been actively gigging the past twelve years. I consider myself advanced in many styles: jazz, funk, prog rock, latin. My former hiphop outfit Dr. Badlove and the Remedies played at ~20 venues in Wash DC (including the main stage of the DC's biggest music fest, Funk Parade), was featured on Good Morning America, and recorded a studio album. To hear it ("All.You.Ever.Danced.") go to Spotify, or copy the URLs. My faves are "My Electric" and "Bounce." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9h5X_JWD6M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP0UXIeSiS0 I also recently parted w a funk band I co-founded, Zen Warship, where I was lead vox, rhythm keys, or drums, depending on the year. A music video of ours (from when I was singing but Not the drummer): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG0cJ0wKzzg ZW were regulars at Pearl Street Warehouse, played dozens of festivals, and was featured at the Lincoln Center. In both groups I wrote the majority of the lyrics and melodies, including Dr. B's rap lines. I currently produce on the side using tools like Akai Force (similar to Ableton hardware). Sooner or later on the street you'll find me busking on electronic drums with backing tracks. I am open to all genres, any and all projects, short or long term. I'm looking for community, not cash. Sober and professional (but don't mind contact highs!) I own a car and am used to long practice commutes.
