Description
Hi! I'm Kady. You may have seen my other post(s) about rehoming and rehabilitation, and this post is for a normal male bearded dragon! PLEASE READ THIS↓ Beardies need a 4x2 ft MINIMUM tank, either made by yourself or purchased online. I'd recommend looking for "pvc reptile enclosures". Please be advised these can be rather pricey. The cheapest one I was able to find was about $300. If you want a bearded dragon, you'll have to get a large enclosure regardless of who you get the bearded dragon from. THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL. Getting a baby lizard means you can get a smaller tank, but that lizard will grow. They are not fish, they do not "grow to the size of their enclosure". Getting a smaller lizard and smaller tank only postpones the inevitable. It's also a waste of money, as you'll have to buy a large one eventually. PLEASE READ THIS ↑ If that didn't scare you off, here's info about the lizard! His rehoming fee is a whopping $0, considering the investment into a tank. But I will ask that you show me proof of a suitably sized enclosure, and answer a few basic questions about proper care. He comes with a full setup - everything you need, minus the actual enclosure. He did not come to me with an enclosure, so he is currently in one of my embedded wall tanks, which I can't remove. (I'm sorry 🙇🏼♀️) He a rescue, so I can't say with full certainly his age or genetics. He is eating well, very calm, and easy to handle. He was previously kept without UVB, so he has metabolic bone disease. (which is just a physical deformity) It is permanent, but on the much better end of cases I've seen. It doesn't impact his quality of life, and since he is fairly young, his outlook is great with continued upkeep of proper diet and lighting! This dragon also has somewhat long nails. These will need to be cut/filed back slowly so that the quick (blood vessel) has time to receed. Flat rocks in the enclosure will help keep those claws under control! Please contact me for more details! I am available post-adoption for questions and help, and I highly encourage new owners contact me immediately if they feel like they are no longer able to care for the animal. I'll pick up the animal, no questions asked.I am more than happy to return your adoption money in that scenario! (provided the reptile comes back with their supplies) I am willing to drive up to four hours for pick up/drop off, but if you live farther and I may ask you to meet me halfway. I am a night shift worker, so appologies for any delay in texts or emails.
