Description

Third Annual Health Care Providers Concussion Conference will help the learner discuss, diagnose and treat concussions. This conference is to inform healthcare providers on how to assess and treat patients with concussions. Legal parameters and published guidelines will be reviewed as it pertains to the acute concussion along the continuum of care. Content includes identification of concussion as well as prevention, asessment and treatment. Participants will learn about transitioning concused studentsback to school and workers back to work. Safe return to play transition will be covered. Accreditation Statement: Kalispell Regional Medical Center is affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine. The University Of Washington School Of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Washington School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Attendees meeting the criteria for successful completion of the Healthcare Providers Concussion Conference can receive 5.75 contact hours of continuing nursing education (CNE) credit. Kalispell Regional Healthcare is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. In order for nurses to obtain nursing contact hours, criteria for successful completion includes attending at least 80% of the conference, completion of an evaluation form, and signing attestation statement indicating >80% on post course quiz. The Montana Board of Occupational Therapy Practice will accept 5.75 contact hours towards licensure requirements for occupational therapists who meet the criteria for completion of this activity. Healthcare Providers Concussion Conference meets the Category A requirements for physical therapists/ physical therapy assistants.
