Description

2021 Holiday Candlelight Walking Tour The Freehold Human Relations Committee, Historic Preservation Committee & Recreation Commission welcome you to the “Holiday Candlelight Walking Tour”. The walking tour was created in 2019 to bring awareness to the historic houses of worship of the downtown area to Borough residents and neighboring towns in commemoration of the Borough Centennial celebration. It has been expanded to include houses of worship all around Freehold Borough. This year there will be nine stops on the tour, celebrating ten houses of worship. At each stop members of that congregation will provide a bit of history. Live music, refreshments and maybe a caroler or two will be part of this unique event. Your leaders and guides will acknowledge some of the historic residences on the tour as well. We thank you for joining us in this inspirational journey through our town’s past, celebrating the congregations’ presence and contribution to the historical heritage of Freehold Borough. Donations will be accepted for Blessing Bag Brigade. Please note that masks will be required for this walking tour. Remember to dress warmly, and wear comfortable shoes. We ask that you also follow social distancing etiquette and respect the requests of each house of worship that we visit. Questions? Please call Carrie Conger at 973-303-1915.
