Description
40 Hour Basic CERT Training that will give you the fundamentals to operate as a member on a Correctional Emergency Response Team.
This is a 5 day CERT Operator Training.
Upon completion of this training attendees will be certified in CERT Operations, Chemical Munitions, Impact Munitions, Aerosol OC, Controlled F.O.R.C.E. Defensive Tactics, and PepperBall.
Appropriate attire for training is required. Dress code is facility issued uniform or tactical clothing. Clothing with profanity, vulgar, or offensive language or images will not be permitted.
Prerequisite for this course is at least one year experience in the corrections (may be waived with written approval for participation by Warden) and be physically capable to participate in all aspects of training, i.e. defensive tactics, cell extractions, line formations, etc.
Schedule will be Monday-Friday 0800 to 1700 hours
Instructor Bio:
Major John Stuckey is a Master CERT Instructor and currently the Chief of Security at the LaSalle Correctional Center. He has over 20 years combined Law Enforcement and Corrections working various contracts including DOC, BOP, and ICE and is the LCC CERT Commander. Major Stuckey is also and instructor in OC Aerosol, PepperBall, Controlled F.O.R.C.E., and Chemical/Impact Munitions.
