NorCal Cosplay Ball presents Dancing x Cosplay! Join us, learn to dance, and party the night away to your favorite anime/video game hits! Hello everyone, In the wake of Covid-19 as well as many other factors, we imagine that 2020 has not been the kindest year any of us. In regards to the NorCal Cosplay Ball, we have already had to cancel our March Spring Sensation and our June Summer Jamboree events. Our next scheduled event would have been our three-year anniversary event, NorCal Cosplay Ball: Extravaganza, which was planned for September 19th, 2020. In light of the fact that people are appreciating the times before covid-19 more than ever and are hungry for an opportunity to come together, especially with many major cons having been cancelled this year, we have decided to rename our next Cosplay Ball event as “Project Gratitude.” To be fully transparent, we don’t know exactly when Project Gratitude will happen, whether it be before the end of 2020 or next year, if not later. With our anniversary events usually depending on the profits/revenue of two or more previous events on top of its own ticket sales to offer all the extras associated with an anniversary, this endeavor we have put in front of us won’t be easy. However, most things that are worthwhile never come easy, and our team is 100% dedicated towards serving our community and all of our attendees. In the meantime, here is what can be expected from Project Gratitude: All the usuals from a NorCal Cosplay Ball event. A social hour for people to make new friends, enjoy refreshments and hor’deurves, and visit our photographers. A beginner dance lesson for those who have never had the opportunity to learn partner dancing. Hours upon hours of social dancing fun with a playlist made up of your favorite anime and video game hits. World-class performances curated for our Cosplay community. A cosplay contest and giveaways with fabulous prizes. Anyone who has been to our previous anniversary events can also expect things like a live band and the most extravagant programming ever! The fanciest opening ceremony you will ever see, special guests, and so much more! Project Gratitude will be the launch event for some of the other project initiatives that are supported by means of the Cosplay Ball and the new dancers/volunteers that have come forth as a result. These include programs where our team can bring the joy of dancing to special needs communities, the physically impaired, the elderly, and more. We have invited special guests from our community who give their time and talents towards these causes to present and participate. For those have been missing out on the con experience, we are looking into providing as many pre-Ball activities as possible. While we still need to confirm a bigger venue and hours, we are looking at offering a swap meet, fun games and activities, some related panels, and more! Please continue to check back as we aim to finalize our date (the current one is a placeholder) as well as a larger venue and final hours/schedule. From there, we will continue to announce our special guests and programming. We hope that this will be a celebration to remember. In the meantime, please support us by spreading the word and inviting all of your friends and family so that we have the means to put together this fantastic event.
