The woodworker father of a friend passed away leaving a huge trove of various types of wood, including cut offs from cabinet shops. I've found walnut, cherry, mahogany, oak, maple, purple heart, and cocobolo, not to mention lots of fir and pine. There is thin stock as well as other thicknesses, some 2", in pieces from 6 inches to over 2 feet in length, some pieces over 6 inches wide. Much of this is still good and usable wood for small shop projects or crafts, though honestly, some of it is firewood. (I believe he heated his garage/shop with a wood fire at one time). This wood is free to anyone who will invest the time to come get it. But be warned-- there is a lot of wood here. I estimate there are at least 3 (three) fullsize pickup loads.
