Description

An Evening of Glamour: A Night at the Club The Housing and Opportunity Foundation of Kern is celebrating its 9th Annual Signature Event: A Night at the Club, benefiting low–income families in Kern County in gaining financial independence and self-sufficiency. We are excited to bring back a night to remember with a Night at the Club theme and a seated dinner format this year! Attendees will feel like VIP guests at an upscale Miami club for the evening. The Bakersfield Country Club will be transformed into a luxury VIP lounge. At the same time, the night is dedicated to raising funds for needy families who are pursuing self-sufficiency. We anticipate the Kern County community will step up once again and demonstrate our heart for helping those in need. Our Mission Statement  It is our mission to empower families to become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life.   The Housing & Opportunity Foundation of Kern (HOFK) assists residents in the county’s low income public housing, and those in the Section 8 program to become self-sufficient. The seniors, youth, and families we assist have sought us out in an effort to change their lives. There are many barriers for them to overcome: lack of education, little or no job experience or training, poor self esteem, and no positive role models. We help them help themselves by providing the resources, support and environment they need to become self sufficient members of society.
