Seeking Dope Bassist for Indie Electronic Folk Band

Meets

Seattle WA

Description

We are currently a male and female vocalist and I play a number of instruments and produce full on songs. We have an set established with backing tracks and are getting a drummer up to speed and looking to add bass as the final piece. Here are 7 of the songs: https://brokenocean.bandcamp.com/album/endless-moon https://soundcloud.com/brokenocean/sets/billionaire-baking I’ll mention I play bass (though playing guitar and piano in this project) and composing/producing is my main interest. You will probably notice that these songs already have bass lines and we are looking to keep those the same or at least in the ballpark of what is there. That said, I have a decent studio (in West Seattle) and the plan is to consistently be creating new songs so there is more room for future creativity and I have a decent setup for recording bass and all the other instruments along with mixing skills to make recording basically free for this band. Just for sake of complete transparency, there are a couple songs where there either is no bass or the bass is purely sub-synth bass or like 808s. So, ideally (but not importantly), you also play a second instrument or maybe you could sing harmonies to have a roll (or maybe crowd applification via excellent dance moves) on songs with sub bass/808s or are happy just chillin for a song. Just for reference the current set of 9 songs has 6 (probably 7) tracks would fit very well with electric bass, so just talking about a couple songs. I personally don’t play an instrument on around 4 songs and strive to resist the temptation to add things just for the sake of having them. In my music past, I led a band in Seattle for 6 years called Pocket Panda. We had a KEXP song of the day and could fill venues like the Tractor and Columbia City Theater. Hoping this project can go much further! If you are interested, please send a video of you playing - ideally in a style that is reminiscent of this music or a couple videos in different styles. Also any info on your own personal musical ambitions - what you’d like to get out of project such as this is would be smooth. Cheers, -Eric
