Zaira Meneses & Son Jarocho in Concert presented by RI Guitar Guild Zaira Meneses: Praised by The New York Times as “ an arresting performer full of colorful touches”. Renowned for her extraordinary musicality, unique tone and enchanting technique. Zaira Meneses has delighted audiences internationally in a wide variety of programs ranging from solo recitals to chamber music to highly acclaimed performances as soloist with orchestra. Zaira Meneses is Director of Community Outreach and Student Affairs for the international festival Boston Guitar Fest and Artistic Director of the new cross disciplinary cultural initiative “Guitar and Friends” for which she was awarded a special grant by the Albert Augustine Foundation. Faculty at NEC Continue Education, Preparatory and leads special seminar in Performance and Entrepreneurial Techniques at the New England Conservatory. Son Jarocho: Son Jarocho in Boston is Created in 2012 by Zaira Meneses professional musician, dancer and singer. Son Jarocho Center developed over the years in Boston. Our focus is on the musical, arts and cultural tradition from Veracruz. The Rhode Island Guitar Guild is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to enriching the Rhode Islandcommunity through music. The Guild will organize inspiring concerts of the highest quality. We willpresent international artists and educators in some of Rhode Island’s most beautiful concert venues. Weare dedicated to making these concerts affordable and available to anyone who loves music, we believeno one should have to miss an opportunity to be inspired because of financial constraints. Guild membership will include discounted ticket prices and admittance to our Play Parties. Play Partieswill be potluck style social events where guild members will be encouraged to share their musicalitywith the group in a low-pressure and fun environment! It will be great experience for anyone learning toovercome performance anxiety! RIGG will also have an additional ensemble program made up ofmember and coached by one of the many excellent educators on the board! RIGG represents multiple generations of passionate local musicians that are dedicated to inspiring andeducating the next generation of aspiring Rhode Island musicians! Both Rhode Island College and theUniversity of Rode Island are represented on our board, along with award winning musicians and artistsof multiple disciplines. Our organization is dedicated to creating a diverse and vibrant artistic communitythat reflects the amazing talent that Rhode Island has to offer!
