Lost Dog on New York & St Roch

This poor dog was dropped off with his crate and some food on Thursday on New York Street. The owner, or culprit fled. A family tried to help and get the dog to come to them. The dog was skittish and then became afraid, then ran. Another family arrived and was able to assemble the kennel and get the dog caged in it..but afraid of what to do called SPCA- who now has this poor guy. Many people in the neighborhood would have rescued this poor guy and adopted him- had the owner given a choice. But, now the SPCA wants the owner to claim him, and has given 4 days for such. Otherwise he will be neutered and then tested for aggression etc. If he fails he could be considered not adoptable and then will be put down. If anyone knows the owner, a group of us are trying to reach them, at least give us the name and background story to such a venture this pup was put on? We have hopes to save him from an undeserved demise. Please text me or email ( please dont call, I get so many calls a day) and let me know if you have info or can help. If your the family that helped get him in the cage, I want to hear what happened that made you feel he was agressive - besides being lost and then contained by strangers.
