Join SheJumps + Jackson Hole Mountain Guides for a women's only Deep Pow Camp in Grand Teton National Park. Take your backcountry touring skills to the next level by learning side-by-side with other women in a positive and encouraging environment. SheJumps and Jackson Hole Mountain Guides present a women-only Deep Pow Camp. This two day camp is ideal for the backcountry skier or rider looking to become a more active member of a backcountry group or prepare for an AIARE 2. Over the two days in Grand Teton National Park, participants will refine their navigation, skin track setting and downhill travel skills with help and advice from their guide, Betsy Manero. All of this will happen while taking in amazing views and skiing/riding some of the most classic descents in the Tetons. Registration MUST be completed through JHMG: https://reservations.jhmg.com/reserve/t6955-shejumps-ladies-only-de/6955/book Itinerary - Day 1: Meet at the JHMG office at 8:00 AM for coffee, introductions and a safety briefing.Before going out into the field, your guide will go over the following with you: Gear and Strategic Packing, Avalanche Safety Gear, Navigation and Trailhead LocationIn the field, your group will practice avalanche rescue before heading out for a full day of touring in Grand Teton National Park. Day 2: Your group will meet in Grand Teton National Park at 8 AM and conduct a morning briefing and beacon check before leaving for a full day of touring.Over the two field days, participants will hone in the following skills with the help of their guide: Identifying and traveling through avalanche terrainSnowpack assessmentNavigation and route findingTrack setting and pacingLayering and equipment maintenanceDownhill travel techniquesBONUS! Participants will get to demo DPS Touring Skis during the program. Boots, poles and DPS' new line of backcountry skis. DPS is providing this opportunity because they want your feedback and review of their product. We ask that anyone who takes advantage of this opportunity please fill out the review form after their trip. ​Requirements: Participants in this two day camp should be able to hike uphill for 4000 vertical feet for multiple days and be advanced skiers or riders who are comfortable in ungroomed, treed terrain.
